7th Annual Day at the Farm
Day at the Farm Thrills Students!
Over 1,400 local students and 70 teachers attended the Day at the Farm on March 19th, an annual educational fair for children showcasing the fascinating spectrum of Napa County agriculture.This event is presented by the Napa County Farm Bureau and the Napa County Agricultural Commissioner’s office and celebrates National Agriculture Week.
Attractions included farm animals, farm equipment on display, sheep shearing and ferrier demonstrations, beekeeping, ponies, CDFA sniffer dogs, a grape growing demonstration, and much more.Napa County Future Farmers of America (FFA) were on site to lend a hand. act as tour guides and share their enthusiasm for agriculture.Sharpie, the giant Glassy-winged Sharpshooter, and Clo the Cow of Clover Stornetta Farms delighted the crowd.
Day at the Farm provides an opportunity for children to learn about the many facets of agriculture in fun and interactive ways.In combination with the Napa County Agriculture in the Classroom program and organizations like 4-H and FFA, Day at the Farm helps educate and inspire our youth to value and protect the future of agriculture.A special Thank you is extended to the Napa Valley Expo for donating their facility.
