Farm Bureau Member Seminar: Farm Employment Labor Services

Speaker: Bryan Little, Chief Operating Officer

 C. Bryan Little, an employment policy specialist with extensive experience in both government and agriculture is the Chief Operating Officer of Farm Employers Labor Service since 2009. Bryan also serves as Employment Policy Director for California Farm Bureau, representing members on legislative, congressional and regulatory issues involving immigration, employment and human resources policy.

Bryan served with the U.S. Department of Labor from December 2001 to May 2008, first as a Congressional Relations Officer, later as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Occupational Safety and Health. Prior to joining DOL, Little was senior director for governmental affairs for American Farm Bureau Federation in Washington, D.C. Bryan earned a bachelor's degree in political science and public administration from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.

Overview:

The Farm Employers Labor Service (FELS) is a subscriber organization affiliated with the California Farm Bureau Federation. FELS has assisted agricultural employers in complying with agricultural labor laws and avoiding labor relations problems since 1970. The goal of FELS is to assist subscribers in avoiding costly labor management mistakes.

In this seminar you will learn about:

·        How a FELS Labor Management Consultant can help you avoid problems before they become costly, and can serve as a cultural bridge to your workforce.

·        How an employee handbook helps you set "the rules of the road," establishing in writing your expectations and policies for your employees

·        How FELS training can help your employees learn how to work safely, help your supervisors be better teachers, leaders and mentors for your employees, and help you understand the threats and challenges to your business.

Bryan will describe the benefits Farm Bureau members can enjoy by subscribing to the FELS Newsletter, FELS products and services, and provide a brief update on legislative and regulatory developments. ***Farm Bureau Members receive a discount on FELS services***

Zoom Link will be sent to all attendees the day prior to event.
