Farm Bureau Announces 2020 Scholarship Winners
The Napa County Farm Bureau Foundation is pleased to announce the 2020 scholarship recipients for graduating high school seniors pursuing college study of agriculture.
This year’s recipients are all highly-qualified, motivated students who have a passion for agriculture and local land use issues. The scholarships are made possible by the family of Aldo Delfino, the late Ag Commissioner of Napa County, who valued both the opportunity to attend college and the opportunity to return to Napa County and serve the community and local agriculture. The Aldo Delfino Scholarship was established upon the death of Aldo in 1981 for the purpose of awarding scholarships, in his name, to local students planning to attend college and study some form of agriculture. To date, the Aldo Delfino Memorial Scholarship fund has awarded over $130,000 in scholarships.
“This year’s class of candidates gives us great hope for the future of Napa Agriculture,” said Johnnie White, President of the Napa County Farm Bureau. “We look forward to continuing the legacy of Aldo Delfino and staying in touch with these kids as they move into college and enter the workforce.”
"This current group of scholarship recipients was impressive. They each shared a passion for working professionally in agriculture and had outstanding academic records," said Ryan Klobas, Chief Executive Officer of the Napa County Farm Bureau. "We should be proud of the promising talent that is being cultivated in Napa County."
The scholarship winners for the high school class of 2020 are: Hannah Madole (Vintage High School), Jocelyn Stojack (Justin-Siena High School), Maija Turjanis (Napa High School), Marilyn Wilms (Saint Helena High School), Stefhany Rios (Saint Helena High School). In addition, all five students received the 2020 Jack L. Davies Napa Valley Ag Land Preservation Fund scholarships. Jocelyn Stojack and Stefhany Rios received the 2020 California Association of Pest Control Advisors (CAPCA) scholarship, administered by the Napa County Farm Bureau Foundation.
